ONLINE ACCESS

Online Access - Quick and Easy

There are a few different areas that Online Access covers and this page explains the differences between them and how you can access each of them:

Online Patient Services

This is split into 2 access areas:

  1. Basic Patient Online services: This gives you access to log in online, to view your name, address etc, to view allergies and current medication.  It also allows you to order Repeat Medication that is authorised by your GP as well as making Appointments through the Patient Online Website.
  2. DCR - Detailed Care Record - This is a new level of access we are implementing prior to the GDPR guidelines coming into effect.  As well as enabling all the items in option 1, this option additionally gives you access to see (almost) all of you medical record - this includes tests, Diagnosis, Examinations etc.  This is the current level of access we recommend and if you want to access your records online, please fill out the form HERE and return it to us with some photo ID.

A FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section on the NHS website can be seen HERE

EPS - Electronic Prescription Service

EPS is where prescriptions that you request via email, in writing or via the Online Patient Access are sent (electronically) to the pharmacist of your choice.

This is enirely separate and different to the above 'Patient Online Access' and you do not need to sign up for online access in order to get EPS.  All you need to do to get EPS, is to let us know where you want your prescriptions sent, by 'nominating' your preferred pharmacy.  If you could find the postcode of the pharmacy before you ring us, this will help us locate it on our system.
